Book on the History of Framptons22/11/2011
Framptons has been in business since 1898, and has been based at its current location in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, since the 1960s.
Prior to being an egg processing facililty and contract processing plant, Framptons' main factory building was owned by the Co-operative and run as a bacon factory.
Local author Leonard Ware has written a book, entitled 'From Bacon to Eggs, a history of the Co-op bacon factory and Framptons in Shepton Mallet' which details the factory's origins to the present day. The book includes several anecdotes and memoirs from staff past and present, pictures showing the transformation of the factory over the years, and some interesting artefacts.
